COVER YOUR CAR IN FOAM

Description

Snow Foam is a powerful, high-alkaline (pH 13) pre-wash solution designed to remove the toughest dirt, grime, and traffic film before your contact wash begins. Developed for professional detailers and serious car care enthusiasts, this ultra-concentrated formula delivers thick, clinging foam that softens and lifts heavy contamination, reducing the risk of swirl marks and paint damage.

Unlike standard pH-neutral foams, VP’s high-pH formula is engineered to cut through greasy deposits, winter road film, diesel soot, bug splatter, and salt, making it the perfect first step in a proper detailing routine, especially in harsh conditions or when prepping a vehicle for correction or coating.

Maximum Cleaning. Professional Strength. Swirl-Free Results.

  • High-Alkaline Cleaning Power - Cuts through grime other foams can't
  • Safe Formulation - Won't damage or strip properly applied coatings. Also safe on wraps & plastics.
  • Thick, Clingy Foam - Provides long dwell time for deep surface cleaning.
  • Touchless Cleaning - Lifts and encapsulates dirt to minimize swirl risk

Why Use Snow Foam Before Washing?

Most swirl marks are caused during washing. VP Snow Foam acts as a non-contact pre-wash, allowing you to:

  • Loosen and remove heavy dirt before touching the paint
  • Reduce the risk of micro-marring and swirls
  • Clean more effectively with less agitation
  • Extend the life of waxes, sealants, and coatings

It’s the professional’s choice for prepping a car safely.

Unlike gentle snow foams, VP’s high-pH solution is designed to chemically break the bond between contamination and vehicle surfaces. It uses an aggressive surfactant system to cut through grease, oil, and grime — making the contact wash stage faster, safer, and more effective.

It’s especially effective on:

  • Road film
  • Diesel soot
  • Winter salt deposits
  • Greasy or oily residues
  • Bug splatters and tree sap

Why High-Alkaline Foam?

Most snow foams are pH neutral and designed for safe maintenance washes. VP’s pH 13 formula goes further — it offers aggressive degreasing power for cars that face harsh road conditions, heavy soiling, or winter grime.

While it is safe on all paint, wraps, PPF, and trim, we recommend caution on bare plastics or soft textured plastics, which can be more susceptible to drying or fading from high-alkaline exposure. Always rinse thoroughly and avoid longer dwell time on sensitive plastic trim.

The Science of a Safer Pre-Wash

VP Snow Foam uses an advanced blend of polar surfactant molecules, designed to:

  • Break the bond between grime and paintwork
  • Lift dirt away from the surface
  • Hold contamination in the foam so it rinses off safely

These molecules have both hydrophobic and hydrophilic ends — one attaches to grime, the other to water, allowing dirt to be suspended and removed without touching the paint. This process dramatically reduces the chance of introducing swirl marks during your contact wash.

Dilution Guide – Control the Power, Customize the Clean

Because VP Snow Foam is ultra-concentrated and pH 13, you don’t need much to get thick, effective foam. But depending on the level of dirt, vehicle type, and frequency of use, you can tune the strength to your needs:

50ml per 1L
– Light Duty / Maintenance Wash

Ideal for regular use on lightly soiled vehicles or as a foam with less bite. Still delivers impressive foaming and cleaning but is gentler on protection layers. Great for post-rain or quick weekend washes.

100ml per 1L
– Balanced Power

The sweet spot for most detailers. Delivers excellent cling and breakdown power without being overkill. Perfect for winter grime, bug splatter, and general road film without stripping every layer of wax.

150ml+ per 1L
– Maximum Strength / Deep Cleaning

For the dirtiest vehicles, this ratio unleashes the full strength of VP’s high-alkaline formula. Great for fleet work, winter salt removal, or pre-polish prep.

"Is Snow Foam Really Necessary?" – Why Skipping It Can Cost You Your Paint

Absolutely. Snow foam isn’t just for show — it’s one of the most important steps in preventing swirl marks and protecting your paint. And when you’re using a high-performance, high-alkaline formula like VP’s, you’re not just softening dirt — you’re eliminating it before it has a chance to scratch.

Here’s what snow foam does that a rinse can’t:

  • Breaks Down Traffic Film – Road grime, salt, diesel soot, and oily residue cling to paint. Rinsing alone won’t touch them — but snow foam will.
  • Loosens Bonded Dirt – Foam creeps into panel gaps and around trim, lifting dirt the mitt can’t reach.
  • Encapsulates Sharp Particles – Dirt is surrounded and suspended in foam, so it rinses off instead of being dragged around by your wash mitt.
  • Reduces Swirl Risk by 80%+ – Most micro-marring happens during the contact wash. Snow foam prevents the worst of it before you even touch the paint.
  • Improves Contact Wash Effectiveness – By removing the top layer of grime, your shampoo can work more efficiently on what’s left.

What Happens If You Skip It:

  • You grind salt and road film into your clear coat
  • Your mitt loads with grit faster
  • You introduce swirls that cost hours in polishing
  • Protection layers degrade more quickly

HOW-TO

Directions for use:

  1. Pre-Rinse: Remove loose dirt with a pressure washer or hose.
  2. Dilute: Add 50-150ml of Snow Foam to your foam lance bottle and fill with water
  3. Apply: Foam the vehicle from the bottom to top, giving the dirtiest areas longer to dwell.
  4. Dwell: Allow the foam to sit and work its magic. (do not allow to dry)
  5. Rinse: Use a pressure washer to remove foam and contamination (remember to rinse thoroughly)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - Snow Foam & Pre-Wash Car Cleaning

  • Snow foam is a pre-wash solution that’s applied with a foam lance or cannon. It covers your car in thick foam that clings to the surface, softening and lifting dirt before you touch the paint. This helps prevent swirl marks and reduces the risk of scratching during washing.

  • Snow foam works best with a foam lance and pressure washer. But can be used in a pump sprayer or garden hose adapters, but they usually don’t generate the same thickness or dwell time.

  • Yes. Snow foam is a pre-wash – it removes the loose and bonded dirt before the main contact wash. After rinsing off the snow foam, you should proceed with a two-bucket wash using a pH-neutral car shampoo.

  • High-alkaline snow foams (like VP’s pH 13 formula) offer stronger cleaning power than standard or pH neutral foams. They’re ideal for removing tough road grime, oil, salt, and traffic film, especially after winter or on heavily used vehicles.

  • Yes, VP Snow Foam is safe for ceramic coatings, vinyl wraps, and PPF when used correctly. It’s designed for deep cleaning while still being safe on paintwork and coatings. Avoid prolonged dwell time on exposed plastic trim and always rinse thoroughly. (If using daily use less formula)

  • No. Our advanced formula uses polar surfactants to safely lift dirt from the paintwork and encapsulate it without damaging, proper protective coatings.

  • Yes — VP Snow Foam is free of gloss additives, making it safe for matte and satin finishes. However, rinse thoroughly and do not allow the product to dry. For long-term matte wrap care, alternate to a more diluted mixture.

  • Yes! VP Snow Foam can be gently agitated into grills, rubbers, badges, and emblems using a soft detailing brush. This helps move foam into tight areas and ensures spent solution is removed and refreshed.

  • It’s safe on most surfaces, but we advise caution on bare, unpainted plastic trims, which may be more sensitive to strong alkalis. Always rinse quickly and avoid excessive dwell time on these areas.

  • Use it before every contact wash, especially when the car is heavily soiled. It’s essential in winter or after long drives to safely break down built-up contaminants like salt, mud, and traffic film. (H dirty the car is depends on how diluted you want the product)ow

Top quality stuff

I’ve tried various brands of snow foam and other car cleaning products over the years. The majority have been average and appear to be gimmicky. However, the products VP detailing sell, are the dogs. I am very happy and I won’t be getting my stuff from anywhere else in the future.
